Minutes of the meetings of the Yateley Village Design Framework Project Team
There has been a Yateley Town Centre Management Committee for Yateley for the last 20 years. Five years ago the committee was reformed to promote the YATELEY VILLAGE DESIGN FRAMEWORK. In January 2005 the Town Centre Management Group evolved into the Yateley Parish Plans Steering Group having been strengthened by including a wider membership from the Yateley Liaison Group. Yateley Town Council appointed a Project Officer to administer the Steering Group.
The Steering Group's first task was to set out is own terms of reference and prepare a Scope of Plan. The Parish Plans Project Officer presented the Scope of Plan for approval at the Steering Group's April 2005 meeting.
Terms of Reference
The Parish Plan is intended as an aspiration and a vision for the future within Yateley. It will enable local authorities, funding agencies, potential developers and the community to recognise the issues and challenges of Yateley.
The Parish Plan will inform planning decisions and the design process. It will encourage appropriate design, good ideas and positive investment to the long-term vision of Yateley.
The document will be produced by the local community in partnership with Yateley Town Council, Hart District Council, Hampshire County Council, The Yateley Society, Yateley Churches Together and local businesses.
Eight Topic Subgroups have been formed to establish community priorities. Each Topic Group is based on an already existing organisation so that some members, but not all, will be experts in the subject under discussion.
In May 2005 The Yateley Society offered to prepare a draft for the land-use planning section of the Parish Plan by organising Character Assessments of the built environment and the areas outside the settlement boundary. In December 2005 Hampshire County Council agreed to continue funding Phase II of the YATELEY VILLAGE DESIGN FRAMEWORK in order to convert it in a Supplementary Planning Document. On 29 Jun 2006 the YVDF Project Team held its Inception Meeting and Walkabout (Task 1 of the agreed project).
