May Fayre 2006 - Youth Suite, Town Council Offices

The Yateley Parish Plans Steering Group held a major public event at May Fayre on Yateley Green on May Bank Holiday, May 1st 2006.

An exhibition was mounted showing the final plans for the Church End Improvement Scheme. Final comments had to be made to the County Council before 10 May 2006. The exhibition also included maps of the area to be covered by Phase 2 of the Yateley Village Design Framework. This is the commercial area between Yateley Industries and the Cricket Hill Roundabout.

A sequence of slides lasting 4 minutes 31 seconds was displayed on a screen using the multimedia projector explaining the various elements making up community planning in Yateley. Two print-out of these slides were also available to read on static display boards.

Three laptops on-line to the Yateley Parish Plan website (ie this website) were available to participants to become familiar with the website, and to enter their comments on-line.

Large crowds attended May Fayre and many people took the opportunity to visit the Parish Plan event. The event was staged jointly by Yateley Town Council, who provided and set up the the computer hardware and the Yateley Society. Hampshire County Council provided colourful displays of the Market Town Initiative in Hampshire and, more specifically, a display of the Church End Project. The event was manned by the Chairman and Hon. Secretary of the Yateley Society, and members of the Parish Plan Steering Groups.
