Community Topic Groups

The Yateley Parish Plans Steering Groups has established 8 community topic groups. Each of these eight topics can be accessed from the SideBar on this website.

The topic groups will have a Chairman and a small supporting 'committee', which will be made up of elected councillors, professionals drawn from public services, and members of the public. There is no restriction on how and when these topic groups meet to look at the issues and options for their topic. They can meet round a table, or informally on the telephone or by email. The topic groups are expected to conduct public participation exercises to draw in the wider public to obtain their opinions and approval of 'plans'.

The Chairman will normally be a member of the public, but not necessarily so. He or she will be expected to be the leader of the group to steer it on towards producing the recommendations and action plan. Chairmen of topic groups will automatically be members of the Steering Group in order to report progress.

Hart District Councillors and officers have been advised that they cannot sit on parish plans committees in any official capacity, except advisory. They can of course supply the information which is required by the Market Town Heath Check questionnaires.

As well as generating the Yateley Parish Plan most of the 8 topic groups will feed into the Hart Community Plan. The Hart Community Plan also consists of a number of topics which are closely mirrored by those in the Yateley Parish Plan
